Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I have used the more complex, event-based Logitech remotes for about eight years, but largely through inertia once I got the system set up: the batteries run down quickly, the buttons feel mushy, they begin to fail after a couple of years (was able to clean the older model with alcohol but the newer one is unfixable), and programming takes a while. Plus, the models have changed and the buttons moved, so my customer had to re-learn the whole thing, which did not make her happy with her vendor (me).
I bought the functionally-simpler 350 as an experiment, as it seemed a simpler model of behavior might be the solution: rather than press one button to control the TV set the DVR mode, treat it as two remotes glued together, one for the TV and the other for a DVR. Some re-training required, but simple in concept. It also has the advantage of being available from other vendors if needed, and at $49.99 it's not the most expensive item in the stack.
So far I've been delighted. The buttons feel crisp, the programming via Logitech's new app/web system is pretty good (a little convoluted, as instructions are unclear - exactly what a "button" is varies, for example), it behaves predictably, and buttons are logically organized. I've also created a graphic overlay to delineate the TV from DVR sections (a digital camera/PowerPoint graphics/xacto knife kind of crafts thing), and it looks clear and works well.
I wanted to steer clear of Logitech because of our experience with the older controls, but this one feels like they got it right. Five stars
The 350 is a very nice change. I was a bit hesitant prior to purchasing, due to some negative comments of the remote not doing everything that the $300 model could do and not having a screen. However, I am very satisfied with what my under $50 purchase can do.
The "Watch TV" action button works correctly to start and stop everything. Most of the buttons can be overridden and the majority even work correctly for the additional devices. For example, when I watch my cable box, the buttons work correctly for the cable box, but the volume and input buttons are still mapped to the television, which makes sense and avoids having to change devices on the remote to simply change the volume. Likewise, this can be remapped to control the cable box sound or an external sound bar,
You will need to program the remote control using a computer, attached via USB during programming.
The top device buttons light up. The individual button do not. You will need to get used to the position of the buttons, but it is fairly intuitive. When you press a button (e.g. volume up), the device button will light up to let you know which device is being controlled.
The Apple TV does not work out of the box. Everything else did. For Apple TV, you will need to teach the 350 using the apple remote. (Less than 5 min activity.)
Why not 5 stars you ask? Well I intended to use this controller for my cable reciever, TV and HTPC. Cable worked great (Arris DCX3510-M). Software found the correct model and programmed the controller perfectly. Now the TV... not so much. I have a Frigidaire LCD, granted not the most popular of TV brands, but the software could not automatically configure my Harmony 350. I had to then go through a 20 minute or so process that involved my original TV controller to configure the new one. This worked, in the most part. You can't navigate the input menu on the Harmony 350 as easily as with the original controller. Also, there are some buttons missing, like the menu button. This is not a very big deal as I rarely have to reach for the old remote, but alas the reason I knocked a star off.
And for the HTPC? I have not gotten around to properly install Kodi, plan to pair it with a FLIRC FL-09028 USB Universal Remote Control Receiver for Media Centers Components .
Overall: Solid product, worth considering if looking for a universal remote control.

Now the harmony 350:
It doesn’t feel cheap. It feels quite well made. I wouldn’t rate the styling 10 out of 10 but it doesn’t look like a cheap universal replacement remote from an unknown chinese company, which is enough for me.
It was super easy to setup. The database of devices is huuuuuuuuge. I couldn’t find an ir controlled device at home that wasn’t in the database. My 35 years old sony cd player works, my old lg plasma tv works, my apple tv 3rd gen works, my onkyo amp works and the best of all is that every button is very well assignated right away, no need to modify anything.
The process is so simple, you enter the make and model of the device you want to use with it in the app and when you’re done it just works!
The button on the left upper corner powers on every devices you programmed all at once. This is really nice, you just sit on the couch, press this button and you’re all set.
Another nice touch is that I can use it as the tv or apple tv remote AND the volume buttons will control the volume on my onkyo amp, not the volume on the tv as I don’t use the tv’s speakers.
One thing I didn’t like is the mac app. It looks absolutely terrible. It looks like something that hasn’t been updated since 2004. It has a couple of quircks too, like you have to create an account and sign in every time you want to connect your remote and change settings. I just don’t see the point! This is so unnecessary! Maybe if you store your settings in a kind of cloud service but still... Another email subscription I didn’t needed and for which I’ll have to unsubribe a couple of times while crossing my fingers that they stop sending me stuff for real each time.
