About this item
- All Purpose Wine Glass - The amazing and brilliant "One for All" crystal glass is perfectly shaped for all types of wine: white, red, sparkling, and dessert.
- Ideal Shape - The shape of the glasses brings out the flavors of each wine for maximum drinking pleasure. A broader diameter at the base of the bowl and the gentle conical shape is purposefully designed to open the wine’s aromas and drive the bouquet. The incredibly thin and chip resistant 66 mm laser-cut rim concentrates aromas.
- Seamless Lead-Free Crystal Construction - Made in Austria by highly skilled European craftsmen, highest quality lead-free Austrian crystal. A single piece of molten crystal is blown into the signature shape of the bowl, the stem is pulled, and the footplate is formed all without any joints, seams, or glues.
- Dishwasher Safe Crystal - EU tested. Lead-free Crystal wine glasses are guaranteed for brilliance and clarity after 1,000 dishwashing cycles. Polish glasses when damp and still steamy.
- Perfect Gift - The glass weighs 5.1 oz (145 g) with a bowl capacity of 16 fl oz that is ideal for 8 fl oz of wine. The glasses arrive protected in an attractive and sturdy gift box that is great for storage.

Customers are mixed about the compactness of the wine glasses. Some mention that the glass is great, thin, and a nice medium size. The stem is thin and the bowl is not too small or big. They appear to be perfectly sized white wine glasses for sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, etc. However, others say that they are a touch small for their liking, far too small for red wine, and too tall to fit comfortably in their dishwasher. The dimensions were not included on the order form and should be.

"Very nice glasses, a touch small for my liking, and the rim / lip is not as small/ polished as riedel. I did appreciate the seamless design...." Read more

I think with any stemware there is a likelihood of breakage in shipping and defects from the manufacturing process. Thoughts for buyers!
Unfortunately, there’s no free lunch as they say, especially if you aren’t careful or coordinated. It didn’t take long for my partner to knock into one that was too close to the edge of the counter. We have vinyl tile floors, so I wouldn’t say they’re extremely hard, but still the glass broke instantly. No stars removed for this as glass is breakable. If you have no klutzy people in the house, or if you aren’t the kind to optimistically set a glass near the edge of a counter, no need to worry.
The design is great; it is very elegant, looks great whether drinking red or white wine.
And, although subjective, the shape does seem to enhance the drinking experience, both for smelling ("Nosing") and tasting. Overall, it has immediately become my favorite wine glass.
I am certainly no wine snob, but for the last 20 years or so I have exclusively used Riedel glasses.
So Riedel (Vinum) is basically my benchmark.
And, I do prefer this Gabriel glass over my Riedels.
But, like I wrote, the Gabriel is not perfect. I've read in several reviews that people found the Gabriel glass to be "perfectly clear". I am not sure what people base that on, but I disagree.
Riedel glasses are "perfectly clear": when I hold a Riedel glass up to the light, and slowly turn it around, I can see no imperfections.
The same is not true of the Gabriel glass. It clearly shows some "wavy" structure; my guess is this is due to the glass not being perfectly consistent as far as thickness of the material goes.
Both brands are supposedly "crystal".
You can also see/tell by the "lip" of the glass: the Gabriel is slightly thicker, and not as refined.
The Gabriel IS made out of one piece though, so no seams where the stem meets the bowl and the foot, which is very nice.
Also, and this is purely cosmetic, the Gabriel has a nice little pointy area at the bottom of the glass, which gives a nice "streamline" effect to the glass and looks great when there is wine in the glass.
Keep in mind, this review is for the machine made glass; it is possible that the mouth-blown version is better in these minor points that I mentioned. But I am not about to spend $70 or more on a wine glass. I don't even spend $70 on a bottle of wine ( I prefer to stay under $10-$15 for "daily plonk"), let alone on a glass.
One other, minor point: the glass is tall, even taller than a Riedel Vinum Bordeaux. So It's probably best not to bring them out for a party, because I can easily picture people tipping one over while waving their arms around after they had a few glasses, LOL. Better use a stemless glass for those situations.
I am tempted to try the hand blown glasses to see if I can tell any difference but value for money, these are superb. My Reidel's and Spiegelau's are in the basement collecting dust ( in their boxes!!)
Top reviews from other countries
Bestes Weinglas ever
Ich kann es jedem Weinliebhaber nur empfehlen.
Keine voller Gläserschrank, für Rot-, Weiß-, Bordeaux- und Burgundergläser mehr.
Das Gabriel Glas passt immer.
