A microphone term that denotes the perpendicular position of the diaphragm in relation to the body of the mic. An end-address microphone accepts sound from the end of the mic as opposed to from an angle perpendicular to the microphone, as in a side-address mic. Most end-address microphones are pencil-style microphones.
